Honda jazz hybrid test: small car with hybrid drive


With the Honda jazz hybrid with familiar hybrid technology, the Japanese hit on a new chapter: the jazz is the first hybrid in the small car segment and the first Honda in Germany, which is to have as gasoline or hybrid.

So far, Honda's hybrid customers were easy to spot: the technology was was coupled in this country such as insight or CR-Z always on a standalone model, which is not offered with conventional drive. Control unit and storage battery found in the 96-litre storage compartment under the rear cargo floor space without compromising the loading volume (303 litres) or the variability of the back seat. When hochgeklappten seats cinema-like, also a bicycle fits across behind the front seats.
With CO2 emissions of 104 g / km and 4.5 L / 100 km in the standard cycle the Honda Jazz is a liter hybrid more fuel efficient than the 100-HP petrol engine. Purely electric approach allows not for the Honda system trimmed to efficiency, supports the electric motor during acceleration, but alone consistently retains the pace in the city over a short distance.
