The new Mercedes E 350 is equipped with the significantly more economical direct einspritzern from the Mercedes S-class. Result: Instead of 8.5 he needs only 6.8 litres Super petrol.
If one reads the euphoric press release about the new V6 and V8 engines of the Mercedes E-class, you might almost think that the ancestor not quite at the ideal line on the road were.
The direct injection of the S-class are little cultivated and only slightly stronger (Mercedes E 350: plus 14 PS), but significantly more frugal become.
So only the Mercedes E 350 in the new European driving cycle with 6.8 liter Super per 100 km (formerly 8.5 litres / 100 km)-a decrease of 20 percent. This makes possible a set of measures; including an optimized injection, a start stop function, energy-saving equipment and a further seven-speed automatic.
Mercedes E 500: More fun, but higher consumption
The gently operating automatic service excellent, while the V6 with outstanding passage not just shone performed at the first exit. Powerhouse still torque occurs the Mercedes E 500 with new Turbo V8, 4.7 L engine, 408 HP and 600 nm. The sedan but with 8.9 litres / 100 km is to be satisfied despite all thrust (5.2 seconds to 100 km/h).
